Practicing your blocks in this way creates an efficiency of movement with your blocks. If you’ve put enough reps in practicing your regular blocks there shouldn’t be any real reduction in power because those muscles are now used to firing properly for each block.
If you are attempting to do the faster version like Kyle demonstrates, make sure not to sacrifice technique or power in doing so. Practicing in a slower manner tends to allow you better focus on proper mechanics and is still creating the correct muscle memory connections.
